The price of life "for the art". Writes on Piero Parigi

Immagini del bambino e dell'adolescente nel Rinascimento. Percorsi evolutivi dell'arte in Toscana

Child' and adolescent images in the Renaissance. Evolutive paths in the art in Tuscany

by Ivan Nicoletti and Sara Ugolini, 2010.
Some critical writing about a change of mentality, a new way of conceptualizing and considering the child and adolescent development, typical of the Renaissance in the works of the most important Tuscan Renaissance artists. An original scientific contribution that establishes a new chapter in the "History of auxological studies": research in works of art, in a modern age, a greater knowledge of the evolution of the somatic structure of the growing boy. The critical point of view of some researchers in several disciplines (medicine, psychology, history and art criticism) relating to the physical, psychological, social aspects of the world of youth during the Renaissance. An attention to the variety and the variability of somatic, psychological and relational traits that precede by centuries the birth and growth of the science of development and psychology.

by Iacopo Cassigoli, 2009.

In Byzantine artistic culture this book on the representation of maternity has a problematic iconographic genesis, starting from Christianity and its origins about which the book is dealing. The innovative perception of the body following the francescana revolution, from which is coming the empathic language in Florence and Siena of the visual arts with Giotto and Lorenzetti. A chapter is devoted to the relic of probable templar origin - Latte della Madonna, in the church of Piteglio, an object of secular devotion living in the last "informatrici" tales.

Crescere con la musica. Dal corpo al pensiero musicale

Growing up with the music: From the body to the musical thinking
editedy Roberto Caterina, Graziella Magherini, Simona Nirenstein Katz, 2009.
The title has a double meaning: like a benevolent presence, music accompanys individual growth; on the other hand it is a tool for growth with the achievement of important ends in the cognitive and affective areas. The studies presented follow this double reading of the human-music relationship: in the earliest life experiences, in the biological heredity one recognizes the distinctive traits of musical language ...Music has the power of sound to regulate emotions and create the therapeutic processes wherein the physical, mental and social disorders of some people who manifest a difficulty in maintaining intense and sad feelings are helped.

Tra vita e arte: follia e morte in Edward Munch

Between life and art: madness and death in Edward Munch
by Gianfranco Bruno, Stefano Ferrari, Luca Trabucco, 2008.

Life and art link the reader and the art historian Gianfranco Bruno about the meaning of memory on the affective relations, the psychoanalyst Trabucco deals with the formal painting particulars and the deep functions of the mind. The historic Ferrari underlines the relation between the artistic creativity and the reparative function.

ByStefano De Rosa, Graziella Magherini, 2008.

Many are out-of-print writings by researchers close to Primo, referring to a particular passion, with a portrait of the man and of the artist: The life of a precocious painter, but with the special feature of "happiness", "full of life and works", "fresh and always young", "ethic of the fatigue", "the will and capacity of being" and yet more. In the book there is also an interview with Primo Conti by his friend Graziella Magherini.

Trittico d'arte. Esperienze scolastiche di educazione sul campo

Trittico of art. School experiences of education on the field
by Carla Morettini, Mirella Bongioanni, Rita Finato, 2008. Introduzione di Jennifer Celani e Paolo Berruti. 2008.
The book is neither a textbook nor a vademecum with instructions. Through the emotional resource of artwork, it is intended to bring to a level of consciousness the personal, artistic, moral, social and religious elements, offering them to the child. If children's drawings are the creative way of "doing", to see the art representation is the perceptive moment of "feeling": internal and external worlds are reciprocally connected to the development of the personality.

Mi sono innamorato di una statua. Oltre la sindrome di Stendhal

I've fallen in love with a statue. Beyond the Stendhal Syndrome
by Graziella Magherini, italian and english text 2007.
The author explains that that vision, the encounter with the work of art, activates deeply submerged elements of our personality: the Freudian unconscious, the repressed, things experienced and then forgotten but it also stirs to life more primitive, archaic emotional experiences never grasped by the conscious self. Art can make us feel things we have never expressed, never known.

Florilegio. Scritti d'autore 2006

Florilegio 2006
edited by Paolo Berruti, 2007.
"The interpretation of the studies of the Association - and these writings are a tool - often revealing and sometimes surprising - about the artists and the art works, about which we think we know everything. They extend the panorama of the studies in various directions. The contributions (Paolo Berruti, Carlo Bonomi, Nadia Buonamici, Cristina Canzio, Paola Capitani, Jennifer Celani, Alida Cresti, Antonio Di Benedetto, Anna Erede, Stefano Ferrari, Silvia Huober, Carla Lomi, Pierandrea Lussana, Graziella Magherini, Barbara Santoro, Sara Ugolini) touch themes belonging to each of us, and so we will leave more concerned, even if with a new emotion and less prejudice: and with the capacity to cast a new look at works even if very famous ones." (from the preface of Cristina Acidini).

With two new contributions, which start with the restoration of the painting: one of Antonio Natali, with a new point of view on the table, the other one of Mariarita Signorini, with some relevant statements from the same restoration. The poetical line which is coming from the belliniana figuration and its mystery are the reason for the users' strong interest. Like a second chapter or sequel, for this reason the work is titled: The terrace of mystery 2

2005

By Silvia Huober and Adolfo Pazzagli, with some reproductions of Dürer.

In our era, of the dialogue and research among "different faiths and religions", this meeting had a symbolic meaning. To deal the theme of malinconie, begun by Dürer, man and artist, it has reached a real dialogue with three voices, integrated and enhanced, to move to think of some linked lines of various tints, in order to realize a multicolored fabric.

Artemisia Gentileschi nostra contemporanea

Artemisia Gentileschi our contemporary

Luciano Berti, Graziella Magherini, Monica Toraldo di Francia, 2002.
16 reproductions of woks by Artemisia Gentileschi
Singular and fascinating person of art history, the only relevant painter of the first years of XVII Century. She lost her mother and was raised by her famous father Orazio who taught her how to paint. She lived in a man's environment where she was violated by an artist, friend of her father and her teacher. Artemisia Gentileschi is a particular example of a reality and a myth: a symbolic person of the woman's destiny in our history. The book is moving on these two lines: the art historian on his object of analysis, the psychoanalyst on the woman Artemisia, of her courage, of the violence, of her unquiet translated into nomadism, of her vitality: symbol of the woman's adventure in the history.
