Introduction
The Association "Art and Psychology, Interdisciplinary Work Group" has recently changed its name to "International Association for Art and Psychology". Founded in 2000 to promote studies on the relationship between art and psychology, both from the artistic pint of view and the efficacy of an art work, the Association has expanded its interest to other sectors such as art therapy, studies on aesthetics, and the relationship between psychoanalysis and literature. Ina addition, it has taken over another role, that of the voluntary service. The Association encompasses diverse groups which contribute to different themes.
The Association is made of psychologists, art therapists, doctors, art historians, philosophers, and teachers and it is open to anyone who wishes to contribute to the field of art and psychology.
The Association collaborates with various cultural institutions and associations, both national and international, such as the Department of Visual Arts at the University of Bologna, the "Sovrintendenza del Polo Museale Fiorentino", the State Archives, the Department of Philosophy at the University of Florence, the Italian Association of Psychoanalysis (AIPSI), the Italian Psychoanalytical Society (SPI), and the International Psychoanalytical Association (IPA). Because of the international nature of the Association, the website will be both in English and Spanish.
Thus far, the Association has sponsored seminars, conferences, and cultural itineraries. Moreover, with the presence of various scholars, even international, it has promoted integrated research, resulting in several publications. The participation of the Association in international meetings has earned considerable success and appreciation.
With particular attention devoted to the world of young men and women, for whom the aesthetic experience is a fundamental factor of their growth, the Association has collaborated with schools and universities with interesting results in the pedagogy of aesthetics. In fact, the Association edits texts available in "Publications", where one can find the titles of the published volumes. The quarterly "Newsletter" is available in pdf format in the website.
In the index of the website appear the areas of interest for researchers, the request form to be added to the mailing list, in order to be invited to meetings and cultural events, the subscription form and ways to contact us. In the "News" one will find salient communication from the President and Secretary of the Association.
